Finally, our beloved producer, Dustin Gilder a.k.a. Mr. Sexy Voice, gets to step out from behind the glass to air his own show, “Big D’s All Request Beach Break”. It’s a full hour of live Carolina beach music (not Beach Boys), all request, all live! It currently airs on our sister station www.ShagCityUSA.com, and they’ve graciously agreed to share him with us. What a great addition to our Fantastic Friday line-up, and what a way to kick off the weekend!
Dustin makes Zeus Radio Network “sing” everyday, flawlessly (OK, except the day the computer had a complete melt-down), and he is loved by every host we have. He makes every guest feel at ease, keeps the shows moving along, and loves to pop-in on shows every now and then. I personally love working with Dustin as we coordinate all of the amazing shows HWT airs. Well now, we let The Big D loose for a whole hour, and he’ll be kicking off our weekends with some fantastic music that will take us back to “the day”!
As many of you know, Dustin and his wife Misty have THE MOST ADORABLE 26 month old son, and he has cystic fibrosis. Because he was diagnosed right after birth, his healthcare has been fantastic, and his health is miraculous. I have the privilege of spending time with this this precious “Dustin Mini-Me” almost daily, and he definitely has all of us wrapped around his finger. Seeing him thrive is wonderful and joyful. However, his battle is still there. I tell you this not for you to feel sorry for Dustin and his family, not at all, but to remind you to give your kids an extra hug everyday, and please do a little research and donate to cystic fibrosis research if you’re able. The medical world is making great strides on this horrific disease, and as budgets are cut everywhere, donations are desperately needed.
