Betsy Talbot & Alison Cornford-Matheson~How To Carve The Life You Want Out Of The Life You Have

Betsy & Warren Talbot

Betsy Talbot writes about carving the lifestyle you want out of the life you already have. When she’s not writing, she’s traveling the globe with her husband Warren and wondering where they will end up next. On their website, www.Marriedwithluggage.com, they share how they came to be world travelers, and share tips for all of us to follow if our life isn’t quite what we want. They are admittedly a recovering, 40-year-old, Type-A couple who learned that living large is not necessarily living well. They did all the typical things people do in their 20s and 30s: climb the corporate ladder, get married, buy a house, get divorced, climb the ladder some more, get married again, accumulate more crap, and keep repeating the process like hamsters on a wheel. They were in love with each other but not with their lives. After a serious wakeup call, they decided to focus on what matters and get rid of everything else. Their big dream was a trip around the world, but quickly found through personal experience that Living the Good Life doesn’t actually require a passport. In fact, it boils down to just 5 Tenets.  You’ll have to tune in to find out what they are!

Alison Cornford-Matheson

Alison Cornford-Matheson is a garden and travel lifestyle photographer, freelance travel writer and copy-editor, based in Brussels, Belgium. A Canadian at heart, she grew up on the beautiful East Coast. She is married to Andrew (the computer geek!) and is ‘mom’ to two cats. Alison’s obsession with travel was cultivated by her parents at an early age: her childhood summers were spent motor-homing across North America. However, it wasn’t until she was married to Andrew that she first set foot on European soil. Over the following years, Andrew’s company expanded, resulting in numerous trips across the Atlantic. Finally Andrew and Alison were asked to relocate to Europe. Thus, www.CheeseWeb.eu was born. CheeseWeb was originally Alison’s way to communicate with friends and family back home and share her experiences, adventures, photos and observations. It also served as her personal journal to help her remember her first impressions. Alison fumbled through the first months in her new life, and since those early days, CheeseWeb has grown into a resource for expats in Belgium as well as a guide to interesting places to visit, eat and shop.

So tune in to find out just how much courage and hard work it took for Betsy and Alison to get the life they really wanted, and how we can too!
