Helping Our Veterans Stay Organized

To honor Veteran’s Day, I first have to thank my husband and daughter for their service to our Country. I didn’t come from a military family. I had no idea (30 years ago) what I was getting into, when I married a Marine who had already served 8 years in the Corps.

I knew that I would have to be organized because one of the very first statements that he made, prior to getting married, is that I would have to be in charge of everything. The finances, paperwork, meals, children…you name it. It would be my responsibility to take care of the household.

Because, as a Marine, there may be a day that he would just not come home. No, he wouldn’t be cheating on me…he would be sent away, at a moment’s notice and, he needed to be assured that I would be able to take care of myself (and our children).

On Veteran’s Day, I’d like to say Thank You to all of our Veterans. Not just those who have served our Country, but also to those who have been left behind to serve their Country. Having a husband, son, daughter, son-in-law, or any other family member who has served in the Military, means that you too have served your Country.

With the natural stresses of life, adding the responsibilities of having a child serving in the military can cause the feeling of overload. So what does it mean to be “organized” as the spouse or parent of a military member (whether they are active duty or retired)?

Do you know where you can find their:

  • · DD214
  • · Medical Records
  • · Original Social Security Card
  • · Military ID Number
  • · Birth Certificates
  • · Family contact information
  • · Doctor contact information
  • · Insurance Policies
  • · Last Will and Testament
  • · Current bills and when they need to be paid
  • · Mortgage Company Information

These are just a few of the things that you should be able to locate, just in case.

This is why I decided to join forces (excuse the pun) with three partners to help you answer these questions.

Organization Direct has teamed with MobilLogic and Life in Case to help keep you, the military spouse and/or parent (and even the Military member) organized. You may ask why MobilLogic and Life in Case? Through lots of research, I found that there were not a lot of cloud-based organizing systems that actually had these qualities;

  • · Were flexible to meet my needs
  • · Understood the military family needs
  • · That I felt were “save and secure”
  • · Had the functionality to allow me to feel comfortable working with them

So, that is why I teamed up with MobilLogic and Life in Case. MobilLogic is my cloud-based organizing system of choice and Life in Case is the “physical product” that allows me to call all of my important documents in a case (and out the door) in a moment’s notice.

I’ll be talking more about all of this in the near future, but in the meantime, you can check them out on our website @ www.organizationdirect.com under Products.
