Be Consistent and Get Results

Nothing happens unless you are willing to do the work.  Consistency is required to get more done.  We talk all the time about Time Management and Getting More Done.  David Allen has it So right!  I love his philosophy.time

DEVELOP CONSISTENCY

Stop being wishy-washy about whether you really want to reach your goal!  Whether your goal is personal or business related, it doesn’t matter.  Nothing happens until something happens.  And this means you doing productive activities on a consistent basis to reach your goal.

So many times, I hear people say, “it didn’t work for me” or “that doesn’t work for me“.  “I’ve tried everything”.  But, did you try it for a period of time that you can measure your results?  How long did you do the same thing…consistently?  Did you just do it for several weeks or even several months and then give up?  Here is my philosophy.  Anything worth doing is worth doing right….over and over again.    And, this is called consistency.

WHAT DO I KNOW ABOUT CONSISTENCY?

I was really introduced to social media just about 2.5 years ago.  I know, I’m a little behind the times.  But, I made this commitment to myself – if I am going to spend money for a class to learn social media, I am going to do my absolute best to put the skills that I have just learned to use.  And, even though it didn’t cost me a ton of money for the class (E-marketing 101), I was committed that if I was going to spend the time to take the class, I would commit to doing the work.

So, I started blogging every week and writing a producing a newsletter two times a month.  And, get this…I hadn’t ever written anything before, ever!  I had never written a blog before in my life.  Now, because of my consistency, I am finding new clients on the internet; have built a following online; have built relationships and joint ventures with other companies and have increased my income in amazing ways!

Consistent Blogging

TIME MANAGEMENT AND CONSISTENCY

I won’t lie to you.  When I first started writing it took a lot of my time to get used to blogging and posting the blogs.  Just writing the blog seemed to take me hours.  Like I said, I have never blogged before and had never considered blogging as part of my business.  And, of course, I didn’t know of all of the many ways to increase my time management through posting via avenues such as hootsuite and buffer.  However, staying consistent paid off.  What used to take me 4 hours to write and post now takes me about an hour.

Why is this valuable information?  Because, I didn’t give up!  Trust me, I really did think about it and ask myself this question…is this really worth it?  Does anyone care about what I have to say?  The answer is absolutely and, I never gave up.

So, for 2 and one half years I have been writing every week (even when I don’t really feel like it).  And, I have expanded the number of sites that I post my blogs.  Some of my sites are local and others are national and international sites.  I have also continued to produce a newsletter at least 2 times a month.  This was all done with some basic time management techniques.

STAYING CONSISTENT GETS RESULTS

My tag line has always been:  Don’t Agonize – Organize.  Well, I think this tag line is also appropriate:  Consistency Gets Results.  Stay focused on both your personal and professional goals and track your results.  The key is to Not give up.  I hope that this has inspired you to be consistent and grow your business in 2013!  I’d love to hear your success stories!
