We had another show planned on BROADSIDED this week, but Missouri Congressman and Senate hopeful Todd Akin made some ‘legitimately stupid’ comments about rape that made Ron Paul’s ‘honestly stupid comments about rape earlier this year pale in comparison. Congressman Darrell Issa held a hearing all about women’s health but failed to include any women while Rush Limbaugh took it upon himself to slut-shame Sandra Fluke and by association, all women who take birth control. There have been over 1,000 pieces of legislation put forth nation-wide attempting to restrict a women’s access to contraception, health services and reproductive choices while the GOP continues to tell us the ‘War on Women‘ is nothing more than a manifestation of our hysterical collective uteri.
Turns out our collective uteri have figured out how 
to make phone calls, write letters, organize and make plans for the voting booth in November and they’ve been writing and calling us too. You don’t get to see or hear women talk about these issues in the way women are really talking about these issues until you come to Here Women Talk. We’ve opened our show and opened our mics to women who felt they had something to say.
