Are You Toxic?

Are You Toxic? How you begin your day will dictate your day and it can all be related back to the question, Are You Toxic? Have you ever been in the room when a person walks in and you can just feel the energy in the room change…literally? Everyone become on edge, gets nervous, or just disappears and, all of the sudden, finds somewhere else to be?  Could this be because they are toxic? We hear about toxins in our foods and how they are in our body and that they affect our lives. I’m just learning about this type of toxins. What I really want to talk about is the personal toxins that you allow into your day. I have had toxic people in my life. They made me feel sad, depressed and sucked the life out of me. I would watch their number come up on my phone and think (sometimes out loud)….ugh! What do they want now? They just could not seem to find anything to be happy about. (I wonder if they have heard Pharrell Williams song yet?) A toxic person can sap you of your energy and spirit. I know that it isn’t easy to keep your positive attitude, when they are just so negative. A negative attitude can be even more contagious than a positive attitude. The negative attitude and mood of a...

Staying Focused When Life Happens

I learned an important lesson and thought I would share it with you! Feeling the stress of the upcoming Holidays is almost expected in today’s society. We are trying to do more, volunteer more, take on more and all without any additional time to get it done! And then, life throws a curve ball. My cell phone quit working. I’m talking just died, for no...

Stop Missing Appointments

Stop Missing Appointments Using a calendar is the easiest way to stop missing appointments and stay organized. Relying on our memory isn’t the answer to your scheduling issues. Stop missing appointments! Use a calendar system to stay organized – and stay on track. I have worked with so many business owners who “think” that they can remember everything in their head – without writing it down or putting it into their phone. This goes for stay at home moms as well. It is really easy to find yourself saying “yes” to everything, especially during the holiday season. Your child’s...

Taking Time to Rest and Reset

Taking Time to Rest and Reset I learned that it is important to take time to rest this weekend. I attended the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference for Professional Organizers (MARCPO) in Bethesda, Maryland. I was an Exhibitor for MobilLogic. I knew that it would be a very, very long day. Bethesda is (at minimum) a 90 minute drive from my office. And, the event started at 7:00 am! So, I worked hard at having everything together the evening before, and avoid having to stay up all night preparing for the Conference. I decided to take time to rest on Friday...
